Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil&Gas and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.50% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.49% or 0.705 points to trade at 20.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 2.31% or 0.062 points to end at 2.749 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was up 2.21% or 0.93 points to 43.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which fell 1.62% or 0.56 points to trade at 33.80 at the close. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 1.36% or 0.50 points to end at 36.36 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was down 1.24% or 0.27 points to 21.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 65 to 63 and 10 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.29% to 13.29 a new 3-months low.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.34% or 1.26 to $55.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.58% or 1.57 to hit $62.41 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.85 to trade at $1322.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1470, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8763.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 95.238.
